Book Review: Palm Beach Chic

Palm Beach Chic, by Jennifer Rudick, Photography by
Jessica Klewicki Glynn (Vendome,  2015)

One of the things that makes Palm Beach so alluring -- besides the abundant sunshine -- are the magnificently appointed homes, beautifully captured by Jennifer Ash Rudick in her new book Palm Beach Chic  I was delighted when I had an opportunity to chat with Jennifer Rudick at a book signing at Meg Braff's Locust Valley store a few weeks back.  I have been to plenty of book signings --  but so many people purchased two copies of this book: One to keep and one to give as a gift; a testament to how captivating Palm Beach Chic is for the design obsessed.

Having lived in Palm Beach for a short time after law school, I have an affinity for the Island and its eccentric inhabitants, one that Jennifer shares and captures beautifully.  What I really liked about Palm Beach Chic is the broad number of types and styles of homes represented in the book -- old and new, Mediterranean Revivals, Moorish abodes, charming cottages and mid-century condos, to name a few.  There are lush garden photos and lovely Dodie Thayer inspired tablescapes.  If you love Palm Beach,  then you must add Palm Beach Chic to your collection.
