I was so excited to get my issue of June's Elle Decor and see the sumupously layered (and sybaritic) Upper East Side apartment of designer Todd Alexander Romano. The wildly talented Romano has is the perfect storm of talent and training, and it is no wonder that he counts Billy Baldwin as one of his style icons. Orginally from Texas, he has made his home in New York and cut his design teeth at the venerable New York firms Ingrao, Inc., Saunders & Walsh, and with Mario Buatta.
His talent for blending fine antiques, the finest custom upholstery, interesting art and modern touches in his rooms result in youthful, chic style that ED says, "defies tidy definition." In the interview he said "I studied architecture in school, until I realized I couldn't have cared less how a house was supposed to stand up..." Hysterical. There are so many gorgeous details to absorb. Enjoy!
